Kala Sarpa Dosha Puja

The word meaning of Kala Sarpa Dosha, Kala means time, Sarpa means serpent. Rahu and Ketu are known as the great serpent in vedic astrology. Rahu and Ketu are two nodes of Moon and they are regarded as full-fledged planets in vedic astrology. They are considered as most dreaded planets due to their heavy karmic effects.

Rahu is called the mouth of the serpent and Ketu is the remaining body. When all planets and Lagna is confined within Rahu and Ketu, it is called Kala Sarpa dosha or yoga. When the individuals are born with this dosha, one will experience unexpected failure or success

Most of the Kala Sarpa dosha effects are negative, while few can be positive too.
Rahu or Ketu gives sudden positive changes which are huge and can happen overnight or within a span of few days. But these effects are temporary and vanish quickly. Rahu is more independent than Ketu in giving karmic effects.
In vedic astrology, this dosha or yoga is supposed to have direct impact on the following events:

  • Deterioration of health and reduces longevity.
  • Imprisonment or serious accident.
  • Separation, divorce and marital discord.
  • Poverty and destruction of wealth.
  • Destruction of business and loss of job.
  • Destruction of kingdoms and rulers.
  • Downfall of powerful persons in politics.

Kala Sarpa Dosha puja is performed by invoking Rahu and Ketu and chanting mantras to please the graha and the puja is performed as per the shastras (scriptures).

  • The malefic effects causing due to the kala sarpa dosha are nullified.
  • Bestows one with good fortune, prosperity, and harmony in one’s family.
  • Untimely incidents, obstacles or hurdles in one’s life are removed.

Before each homam or puja is performed in Amma's Lalita Temple, a "sankalpa" is recited in Sanskrit, a divinely powerful language. Sankalpa is a special process involving Vedic incantations that energetically connect you and your family directly to any ritual. Amma assures us that when we are included in a sankalpa, we become spiritually connected to the power of the divine ceremony and receive its full benefits immediately, just as if we were physically present. 

In the section before below, please enter the name of the primary person for whom the puja is being sponsored. This name will be recited during the sankalpa. If you know the primary sponsor's nakshatra (Vedic birthstar), you may enter it below. If you don't know the gotra or nakshatra, it's fine to leave this blank.

  • These special homas and pujas will be performed early morning at Amma’s Penusila ashram in India. Please allow minimum 24 hours prior to date of sponsorship.
