Mukkoti Vaikunta Ekadashi – a once-in-a-year powertime event when Lord Vishnu opens 'Vaikunta Dwaram' (Gates of Heaven) enabling you to receive material and spiritual blessings.
As per the Sanatam Dharma, the offering of food items forms part of the ‘Upacharas’ or seva offered to a deity who has had the Prana Prathistha ritual performed to it. Therefore the murthi or vigraha is revered as a living entity who is offered food, fruits etc. among others and it is considered as “Naivedyam”. In Sanskrit Naivedyam simply means offering to Lord.
According to legend when Lord Vishnu decided to descend to Earth in Archa form as Lord Venkateswara, He commissioned Sage Vaikhanasa to prepare ancient religious texts called Agama Shastras. Sage Vikhanasa forumulated Vaikhanasa Agama and prescribed the tenets which are being followed even today in all the major Sri Vaishnavaite temples which includes types of naivedyam.
The traditional process of offering naivedyam to Lord Venkateswara is continued even today as per the tenets of Vaikhanasa Agama without any deviation. The food offering is a process that is guided by strict procedures, preparations and timings.
Naivedyas will be offered to the Lord four times on Vaikunta Ekadashi. Each Naivedya will contain several items which are dear to Lord Venkateshwara. You can sponsor 1 - 4 naivedyas in this sponsorship.
Sponsorship ends 6pm EST on Dec. 24.
Special Instructions for Sponsorship Orders
Before each homam or puja is performed in Amma's Srinivas Saligrama Temple, a "sankalpa" is recited in Sanskrit, a divinely powerful language. Sankalpa is a special process involving Vedic incantations that energetically connect you and your family directly to any ritual. Amma assures us that when we are included in a sankalpa, we become spiritually connected to the power of the divine ceremony and receive its full benefits immediately, just as if we were physically present.
In the section before below, please enter the name of the primary person for whom the festival is being sponsored. This name will be recited during the sankalpa. Please list up to four additional names and nakshatras only. It is not necessary to list all family members' names, as they will automatically receive blessings through the primary sponsor. If you know the primary sponsor's nakshatra (Vedic birthstar), you may enter it below. If you don't know the gotra or nakshatra, it's fine to leave this blank.
ONLY If the prasadam shipping address is different from the billing address, please complete the field below. Please be aware that it may take several weeks to receive your prasadam, since it is being mailed from India during COVID-19 restrictions.
