Lord Dakshinamurthy is also worshipped on the festival of Guru Purnima. Worshipping him helps students at all levels to excel in their studies and education. Lord Dakshinamurthy symbolizes the ultimate and supreme awareness, knowledge and understanding and he is also the ultimate Guru of music, dance and other arts. Guru or Jupiter (the King of the Gods) is the ruler of Sagittarius and called as Guru or the Teacher.
