Shravana Masam: Shukravara Abhishekams, Pujas & Homams (x4 Fridays) - Aug. 13, 20, 27 / Sept. 3, 2021

Sri Mahalakshmi Devi Pujas with Silver Lotuses and Bilwa Patra and Homams

In the month of Shravana, or Shravana Masa, the four Fridays are most important for the worship of Sri Maha Lakshmi. Goddess Sri Maha Lakshmi is Aishwarya Pradayini, the bestower of every kind of wealth–financial, spiritual, or emotional. By worshipping Sri Maha Lakshmi one can eliminate commotion, anxiety, poverty and ill health, and attain peace, brilliance, prosperity, and all noble desires.

  • August 13
  • August 20 - Sri Vara Lakshmi Vratam
  • August 27
  • September 3

This four (4) Fridays' sponsorship includes pujas and homans on August 20 for Sri Vara Lakshmi Vratam Day. This holy day is sacred to Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi, who showers her abundant motherly love and precious spiritual boons on those who perform puja to her on this day. “Vara” means “boon,” so this is the day when Divine Mother grants all of our noble wishes.

It is believed that worshiping Maha Lakshmi on this day is equivalent to worshiping Astalakshmi. These eight forms or energies of Goddess Lakshmi are known as Siri (Wealth), Bhu (Earth), Sarasvathi (Wisdom), Preethi (Love), Keerthi (Fame), Shanthi (Peace), Santhushti (contentment) and Pushti (Strength). Each one of these forces is called a 'Lakshmi' aka:

  • Aadi Lakshmi (the Protector)
  • Dhana Lakshmi (Goddess of Wealth)
  • Dhairya Lakshmi (Goddess of Courage)
  • Sowbhagya Lakshmi (Goddess of Prosperity)
  • Vijaya Lakshmi (Goddess of Victory)
  • Dhanya Lakshmi (Goddess of Nourishment)
  • Santaana Lakshmi (Goddess of Progeny)
  • Vidhya Lakshmi (Goddess of Wisdom

During this exceptional Shravana Masam Maha Mandala Pujas taking place at Manidweepa Mahasamasthanam, the benefits that we get from participating in these sacred events are multiplied thousands of times.  Through the process of sankalpa, sponsors of these sacred events will be directly connected to the ceremony as if they were personally performing the abhishekams, pujas and homams.
