Shravana Masam: Varalakshmi Vratam Special Sri Maha Lakshmi Paduka Puja and Abhishekam - August 20, 2021

This holy day is sacred to Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi, who showers her abundant motherly love and precious spiritual boons on those who perform puja to her on this day. “Vara” means “boon,” so this is the day when Divine Mother grants all of our noble wishes.

Amma has stated “When we worship Mother Lakshmi during the month of Shravana, The goddess drives away the three sufferings of restlessness, worry, and depression. During this month, one should worship Sri Maha Lakshmi to receive Her Divine Grace and drive away the ashta kashtas, which are the eight types of hardship that people face in life. Goddess Sri Maha Lakshmi is Aishwarya Pradayini, the bestower of every kind of wealth–financial, spiritual, or emotional. By worshipping Sri Maha Lakshmi’s Padukas one can eliminate commotion, anxiety, poverty and ill health, and attain peace, brilliance, prosperity, and all noble desires. Offering Pujas and Abhishekhams to the Divine Padukas is equally essential and powerful and has the same benefits as that of performing to the Goddess Lakshmi Devi herself!”

This special sponsorship is for Maha Lakshmi's Divine Padukas. These beautiful gold and silver padukas will be mailed to you as prasadam after the auspicious event.

Special Instructions for Sponsorship Orders

Before each homam or puja is performed in Amma's Lalita Temple, a "sankalpa" is recited in Sanskrit, a divinely powerful language. During the sankalpa, the names of all the sponsors are recited. Amma assures us that when we are included in a sankalpa, we become spiritually connected to the power of the divine ceremony and receive its full benefits immediately, just as if we were physically present.

In the section before below, please enter the name of the primary person for whom the festival is being sponsored. This name will be recited during the sankalpa. Please list up to four additional names and nakshatras only. It is not necessary to list all family members' names, as they will automatically receive blessings through the primary sponsor. If you know the primary sponsor's nakshatra (Vedic birthstar), you may enter it below. If you don't know the gotra or nakshatra, it's fine to leave this blank.

If the prasadam shipping address is different from the billing address, please complete the field below. Please be aware that it may take several weeks to receive your prasadam, since it is being mailed from India.

The Special Maha Lakshmi Paduka Puja and Abhishekam  will take place at Amma's Penusila ashram in India on the morning of Fri. Aug. 20 (IST).

Sponsorship ends on Thurs. Aug. 19 at 8pm (EST).
