Amma's Books – English

Amma Sri Karunamayi’s philosophy is rooted in Advaita Vedanta, which Amma summarizes as: "Love only is Self-Realization." Rather than keeping Advaita as a theory, Amma teaches it as a lived practice through Sri Vidya—seeing and serving the Divine Mother in everyone. Amma's central message focuses on achieving higher levels of awareness through regular meditation, emphasizing that sadhana produces real spiritual progress and Divine knowledge. Amma teaches that while meditation develops inner virtues like compassion, truthfulness, wisdom, forgiveness, and unconditional love, selfless service to mankind is the best yoga.

Amma has authored several books, most notably the Blessed Souls series, which contains edited discourses from her North American tours. Her written works are categorized into three main branches:

1.  Teachings: Blessed Souls (Vol 1-5), Divine Wisdom, Keys to Sadhana, and The Nectar of Jnana.
2.  Mantras: Extensive commentaries on the Gayatri Mantra, Sri Lalita Sahasranama, and Sri Mahishasura Mardini mantras.
3.  Meditation and Sri Vidya: Sri Vidya – Divine Radiance Within (her most noted work) and Sri Chakra practices.

Some of Amma's authored publications are available in multiple languages:

  - English: Original texts and chanting booklets with Devanagari and English transliterations.
  - Telugu: Karunasagari – The Ocean of Compassion (devotee experiences) and Sri Karunamayi: A Biography.
  - Hindi: Sri Karunamayi: A Biography (Sri Karunamayi Ki Divya Jeevani).
  - Sanskrit: Sri Lalita Sahasranama, Rudram, Sri Suktam, and Samputita Sri Suktam booklets.

Reading All of Amma's authored  works are intended to be practice-oriented, guiding readers toward 1–2 hours of daily meditation, mantra japa, and Likita Japa writing sadhana to turn intellectual oneness into experienced oneness. The Blessed Souls series provides a foundation for understanding advanced topics like silence, the internal Sri Chakra, and living by dharma. For those who are new to Amma's teachings, it is recommended to begin with Blessed Souls Vol 1 and Divine Wisdom, before moving on to the Sri Gayatri and Sri Lalita Sahasranama commentaries.
